About DAC

Disability Action Center, formerly Independent Living Services of Northern California is a private, non-profit corporation founded in 1980 to meet specific needs of people with disabilities living in northern California. Our dedicated staff provides free support in the following areas: traumatic brain injury program, provider referrals, housing, information & referral, rental housing, assistive technology, durable medical equipment, senior vision services, accessibility, independent living skills training, peer advising and advocacy.  There are few services available to meet special needs and finding those services is often difficult.  DAC is committed to pro-actively resolving these issues so all people can benefit by, and be of benefit to, our community.

In addition, DAC strives to eliminate barriers to increase opportunities for participation in the community. DAC will also work to ensure provision of needed services, identified by persons with disabilities and other community members, while supporting consumers’ rights to live independently.

DAC serves the North State including: Butte, Glenn, Tehama, Plumas, and Shasta, Lassen, Siskiyou, and Modoc counties. In Colusa, we serve the needs of seniors with low vision.

Please contact us for more information, or to schedule a presentation the services and items that we are able to offer in your community at no charge.
