DAC is a private, non-profit corporation founded in 1980 to meet specific needs of people with disabilities living in northern California. Our dedicated staff provides free support in the following areas:
- Assistive Technology (AT)
- Durable Medical Equipment (DME)
- Housing (Information & Referral Services)
- Independent Living Skills Training
- Peer Advising
- Provider Referrals
- Senior Vision Services
- Traumatic Brain Injury Program (TBI)
There are few services available to meet special needs and finding those services is often difficult. DAC is committed to pro-actively resolving these issues so all people can benefit by, and be of benefit to, our community.
In addition, DAC strives to eliminate barriers to increase opportunities for participation in the community. DAC will also work to ensure provision of needed services, identified by persons with disabilities and other community members, while supporting consumers’ rights to live independently.
DAC serves the North State including: Butte, Glenn, Tehama, Plumas, and Shasta, Lassen, Siskiyou, and Modoc counties. In Colusa county, we serve the needs of seniors with low vision.
