A resource list to help Carr fire victims

The Chico Veterans Resource Center’s reaching out to its community partners to ask for help in gathering some much needed items for those affected by the Carr Fire. With one of their locations based in Redding, they’re asking to please share the list of needed items below. They’re accepting donations at: 110 Amber Grove Drive, Ste. 114, Chico, CA 95973

They’ll be taking everything to Redding at the end of the week.

Items of need:

Gift cards
underwear for children and adults
socks for children and adults
shirts for children and adults
toothbrushes and toothpaste
hairbrushes and hair accessories
feminine hygiene products
toilet paper, paper towels, facial tissue
baby items
diapers, wipes, formula, food, bottles
bath and hand towels
pet items-
dog food, cat food, cat litter, pet snacks
particulate masks
first aid kids
blankets, sheets, pillows
garbage bags
dish soap, laundry soap
can openers
paper plates, bowls, plastic utensils
food items-
cereal, protein bars, crackers, canned vegetables and fruit,
bread, peanut butter and jelly, boost or Ensures, and canned
non-perishable items.
work boots
pet bowls
batteries of various sizes.

Western Service Workers Association, 2350 Beverly Dr., Redding is donating food and water

The Salvation Army is continuing to provide meals and spiritual support at five Carr Fire evacuation sites in Shasta County:

– Shasta College (located at 11555 Old Oregon Trail, Redding)
