Disability Action Center has staff in both Chico and Redding that provide no charge programs and services in Butte, Colusa, Glenn, Lassen, Modoc, Plumas, Shasta, Siskiyou, and Tehama counties. DAC staff are active in these communities doing outreach, meeting with folks, presenting our programs and services at groups and events, providing services and program support with advocacy, peer advising, assistive technology, durable medical re-use program, housing strategies and a compiled list of rental listings, independent skills training, community gardens, seniors learning new ways to communicate with technology, senior low or no vision in-home services, and a traumatic brain injury program that includes information referrals, supported living services, case management, service coordination, community integration, vocational supports, while educating professionals and the public. In addition, each office has support groups to encourage and educate while reducing isolation of those who participate. Local transit systems are easily accessible from both offices. In addition, we have literature that can be accessed through the tab in the menu above “About DAC” and clicking on “Literature” to check out some of our programs and services. Enjoy the summer, but be safe out there in the sun.
